Solutions: Documentum Re-Indexing

Quite often Documentum content has been indexed wrong or is in the wrong place. Documentum WebTop is not the most efficient or convenient tool for making attribute changes to hundreds of documents.    Since CWS Processor is built for speed, it is ideal to quickly process a large collection of Documents.   The following configuration demonstrates how the CWS indexing module can be used to change attributes on existing documents:      

1. Content is received into Documentum a variety of ways:  Migrations from other repositories, bulk imports, web services, bad imports.  There are many ways that unindexed or poorly indexed content gets into documentum.
2. Design a query that will find the documents that must be verified and/or re-indexed.
3. Run Content Workspace Processor with the Documentum module.  Every document that must be verified will quickly be viewed in the viewer.  The indexing operator then changes document types, attributes, folders, lifecycles, workflows, and other attributes to keep the Documentum taxonomy rigid.

Content consumers will now have the abilitiy to find what they are looking for because they are in the correct location and have the correct attributes.
