CWS Processor: Indexing Module

The indexing module allows users to type metadata and other attribute information about images.

The CWS Indexing Module has the following features:
  • The user first determines the type of document that is being indexed, which will load and display the appropriate document definition.
  • Document definition files define all the attributes, helper fields, and validations that are associated with a particular document definition.
  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR) can be used to automatically recognize and assign recognized data to a particular field.
  • The indexing screen is a dockable window that can float, be layered, or docked to the Content Workspace image window.
  • Previously recognized or entered information is pre-filled.
  • There are serveral built in quick keys that provide performance optimization.  The user has the capability of adding more quick keys.

Indexing operators generally work with the following flow:
  1. Click the Get Next button or hit Enter to get the next work unit.
  2. Select the Document Type.  The attributes that are associated with the selected document type will be displayed.
  3. The user fills in all the attributes associated with the document type.  They will be validated as the user leaves each field.
  4. When complete, the user hits Enter, which will save the attribute data.
  5. The user can now start over with step (1).

The Indexing Module comes with the following quick key optimizations:

  • Zooming quick keys:  Zoom to each quadrant, Zoom to full page, remember zoom between images, zoom to field, zoom in
  • Panning quick keys:  Pan right, left, up, and down
  • Type ahead keying for drop down boxes
  • Default buttons automatically change depending on context.  The Enter key will assist in entering data as quickly as possible
  • Numeric field keyboard context:  When in numeric fields, the standard keyboard changes to be a numeric keypad (ie. J=1)
  • Associate more quick keys with other macros
